Awaab’s Law
Awaab’s Law – The Story That Changed the Law and the Way We Care for Our Homes
In 2020, two-year-old Awaab Ishak tragically passed away due to prolonged exposure to mold. This tragedy reshaped the approach to tenant safety and led to the creation of Awaab’s Law.
From 27th October 2025 in England, and according to current government announcements, also from March 2026 in Scotland, landlords will be required to quickly respond to issues of moisture and mold.
It’s important to note that the details for Scotland may change as the government finalizes the regulations, so staying updated is key.
This is not just an obligation; it’s an opportunity to ensure comfort and safety for tenants.
That’s why it’s crucial to act proactively – proper ventilation is key to avoiding costs and stress.
DR Home Improvements is here to help, offering MVHR and DMVHR (Decentralised Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) systems that effectively eliminate moisture and mold issues.
Don’t wait for the law to catch up – breathe easy today!
